Yalgae (pronounced "yahl-geh" in American English) is an illustrator who combines traditional drawing techniques with digital tools. Also known as Seyeon Juhnn, the name "Yalgae" means "a lovable troublemaker" in a Korean dialect, which reflects her playful and quirky artistic style.
Yalgae focuses on character-driven artwork, drawing inspiration from the movements of people and animals and capturing everyday joys from a unique perspective shaped by growing up between Maryland and Seoul. Recently, she has created pet portraits and rotoscope art based on friends' pets, while also working in various genres, including editorial, educational, and children's illustrations.
